Job Summary:

The Practice Associate II is responsible for the patient welcome experience functions, general administrative work, and scheduling and coordinating of surgical and in-office procedures and other specialty services in support of the day-to-day operations of practice and research patient care in the Department of Ophthalmology. The Practice Associate II is part of a team that delivers an exceptional patient experience that contributes to positive health outcomes for patients and a work culture of Service-Oriented, Trust, Empathy, Safety, Inclusion, and Communication

Job Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors and answer patient telephone calls.
  • Conduct pre-registration, check-in, check-out, appointments and other related tasks.
  • Obtain all required registration and intake information from patients; verify and/or update any new insurance or other information in EPIC; obtain prior authorizations and referrals for visits and tests and verifies eligibility for services.
  • Assist provider with patient flow.
  • Ensure overall condition of workspace area is clean and safe.
  • Ensure inventory and adequate supply of personal protective equipment and other hygiene products.
  • Follow end of day closing procedures.
  • Provide general administrative support to physicians and manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalency is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a medical office environment with knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Candidate must demonstrate good customer service orientation and the ability to deliver consistent exceptional service while demonstrating tact, respect and sensitivity.
  • Candidate must be organized and be able to manage a demanding workload with limited complexity in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Candidate must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working proficiency of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) or similar software is required and an ability and willingness to learn new systems and programs.
  • This role may rotate between sites.
  • Prior experience in EPIC/EHR is preferred.
  • Prior experience in an Ophthalmic office setting is preferred.

Hourly Rate Ranges: $24.76 - $30.21

Note: Our salary offers will fall within these ranges based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, skill set, training and education
