This position will support ColumbiaDoctors, one of the largest multi-specialty practices in the Northeast. ColumbiaDoctors’ practices comprise an experienced group of more than 2,800 physicians, surgeons, dentists, and nurses, offering more than 240 specialties and subspecialties.

Job Summary:

The Practice Associate II is responsible for supporting the Pulmonary Hypertension Program at the Center for Advanced Cardiac Care. The Practice Associate II ensures an exceptional patient experience while coordinating patient care, obtaining prior authorizations, scheduling appointments for multiple providers, and handling other administrative inquiries. The Practice Associate II is part of a team that delivers an exceptional patient experience through Service-Oriented, Trust, Empathy, Safety, Inclusion, and Communication.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and track medication authorizations for inpatient and outpatient pulmonary hypertension patients
  • Work closely with NYP Specialty Pharmacy
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, providers and insurance carries
  • Sustain a comprehensible tracking system. Document all actions in EPIC.
  • Review the daily and weekly schedule frequently to ensure accuracy of the visit provider, appointment duration, patient insurance participation status with the visit provider, visit reason, and visit type.
  • Monitor the EPIC referral work queue and schedule in a timely fashion.
  • Participate in Pulmonary hypertension program huddles
  • Schedule follow-up appointments, referrals, and other related tests as requested by the provider in a timely and accurate manner. Obtain prior authorizations and referrals for follow up care, procedures, and medications as needed by insurance plan.
  • Collect and maintain data of referrals and referring providers.
  • Provide general administrative support to physicians and manager.
  • Cross cover other practice associates
  • May rotate to other sites as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalency is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience or a combination of certifications, coursework and experience.
  • Prior experience in EPIC/EHR is preferred.
  • Prior experience in Training is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus, but not required.

Hourly Rate Ranges: $24.04 - $28.77

Note: Our salary offers will fall within these ranges based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, skill set, training and education.
