Job Summary:
The Procedure Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for scheduling all Cardiovascular and diagnostic procedures. The coordinator works with the providers to identify dates, define procedures, place orders in the system and ensure patients have all required pre-operative testing.
The Certified Medical Assistant performs clinical duties that support the healthcare team in its efforts to operate efficiently and effectively. In the clinical role, the CMA works with the medical team involved in evaluating and treating patients. This position requires someone who is savvy with electronic medical systems and can assist with documenting patient information in the system.
Job Responsibilities:
- Works closely with the providers to create a procedural schedule and places orders in Epics.
- Instructs patients on the required pre-operative testing and ensures testing is done prior to the procedure.
- Communicates regularly with the Cath Lab schedulers and supervisor to ensure all cases are placed on the schedule and in the right order.
- Requests medical records, when needed.
- Scanning of medical records into the electronic medical record.
- Place ancillary orders in EPIC.
- Schedule pre-operative testing; Covid and labs for upcoming all cardiac and diagnostic procedures.
- Maintain share calendar and schedules.
- Triaging patients into examination rooms including escorting patients to and from rooms.
- Performing vital signs and EKGs and documenting in the electronic medical record.
- Documentation of patients’ medical and medication history in the electronic medical record.
- Helping the MD and NP to document medical conditions and complaints in the EMR.
- Examination room turnover after each patient.
- Communications with referring physicians.
- Hospital bed reservations for in-patients.
- Restock medical supplies in examination rooms.
Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant training program required.
- CCMA Certification required.
- 3 years' minimum experience in a medical office required.
- Must be able to manage multiple cross-functional communications and process in a timely manner.
- Must have a high degree of professionalism in all communications.
- Must possess strong communication skills and the ability to speak with many diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to build interdepartmental relationships.
- Must think strategically and problem solver.
- Experience in managing complex schedules preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish is desired.
Hourly Rate Range: $21.00 - $33.17
Note: Our salary offers will fall within these ranges based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, skill set, training and education.
