Practice Associate I #Full Time

Job Summary:

The Practice Associate I is responsible for ensuring an exceptional patient experience during patient arrival, patient departure, patient interactions relating to registration and appointment scheduling as well as other administrative inquiries. The Practice Associate I is part of a team that delivers an exceptional patient experience through kindness, inclusion, integrity, accountability, and excellence.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors, and answer telephone calls promptly.
  • Review the daily and weekly schedule frequently to ensure the accuracy of the visit provider, appointment duration, patient insurance participation status, visit reason, and visit type.
  • Obtain all required registration and intake information from patients, and verify/update insurance eligibility, benefits, and other information in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Collect all time-of-service and past-due payments. Settle cash drawer in the EHR.
  • Prepare drafts, narratives, and other routine correspondence as appropriate. Escalate matters as appropriate.
  • Prepare patient charts and file confidential medical records.
  • Perform general administrative duties including managing physician schedules; mail sorting; schedule internal/external meetings; travel accommodations and itineraries.
  • May assist Supervisor/Manager with special projects as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • May rotate to other sites as needed.

Job Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalency is required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of relevant experience including working knowledge/proficiency of medical terminology.
  • Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Candidate must demonstrate strong customer service orientation and excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Working proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) or similar software is required and an ability and willingness to learn new systems and programs.
  • Prior experience in EPIC is preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Hourly Rate Ranges: $20.91 - $25.96

Note: Our salary offers will fall within these ranges, taking into account experience, skill set, and other differentiating factors including education.
