Job Summary:
The Health Insurance and Data Entry Logging Clerk’s responsibilities in the Dermatopathology Laboratory are divided into 80% Health Insurance and 20% Data Entry Logging. A Health Insurance Clerk is responsible for correctly identifying the patient’s health insurance and entering that information into EPIC. A Data Entry Logging Clerk is responsible for entering patient demographic information into multiple computer systems. In the Dermatopathology Laboratory the job entails deciphering hand written demographics and clinical data, entering that information into our Laboratory Information System (LIS), creating an encounter in EPIC, transferring the visit MRN number into our Lab’s LIS and confirming all information across all systems is accurate. An extremely high-volume Laboratory, speed and accuracy is essential. The Health Insurance & Data Entry Logging Clerk though not patient facing, is part of a team that delivers an exceptional patient experience through ensuring patient’s insurances are correctly billed and ensuring biopsy report accuracy.

Hourly Rate Ranges: $20.05 - $24.52
