The 61st Street Service Corporation, provides administrative and clinical support staff for ColumbiaDoctors. This position will support ColumbiaDoctors, one of the largest multi-specialty practices in the Northeast. ColumbiaDoctors’ practices comprise an experienced group of more than 2,800 physicians, surgeons, dentists, and nurses, offering more than 240 specialties and subspecialties.
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Exercise Physiology Program Director, incumbent will perform duties of an exercise physiologist in assigned areas.
Job Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates knowledge, experience, and skills to perform and administer cardiac and cardiopulmonary stress tests for adult patients.
- Assists with cardiopulmonary stress equipment maintenance and calibration and participates in maintenance of emergency equipment and supply inventory.
- Provides preliminary cardiopulmonary stress test interpretation.
- Assesses and reviews patients’ health history, including information documented in the EMR, evaluates their knowledge of the procedure, monitors patient status during the stress procedure, and documents accordingly.
- Educates the patient and family on all steps of the cardiopulmonary stress test, including scheduling appointments and addressing patient questions.
- Accurately assesses patient vital signs at rest and while patient is in motion on treadmill.
- Provides static and dynamic EKG monitoring and demonstrates advanced rhythm, arrythmia, and 12-lead ECG interpretation skills.
- Responds to clinical emergencies and supports BLS and ACLS emergency protocols.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or equivalent allied-health curriculum required, or a Master’s degree in clinical exercise physiology.
- Minimum 4 years of related experience required.
- Maintain BLS certification and obtain ACLS certification within 3 months of hire; responds to clinical emergencies and supports emergency protocols as required.
- Demonstrated organizational and problem solving skills, and the ability to set priorities among multiple competing objectives, tasks and initiatives is required.
- Candidate must demonstrate strong customer service orientation and the ability to deliver consistent exceptional service while demonstrating tact, respect and sensitivity.
- Candidate must be well organized and be able to manage a demanding workload and moderately complex cases in an accurate and timely.
- Ability to work independently and multi-task with constant follow-through.
- Candidate must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Working proficiency of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) or similar software is required and an ability and willingness to learn new systems and programs.
- Must be a motivated individual with a positive mindset and exceptional work ethic.
- American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Clinical Exercise Specialist or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist certification preferred.
- Prior experience in EPIC is preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Prior experience in a medical practice/clinic is strongly preferred.
Hourly Rate Ranges: $33.50 - $48.00
Note: Our salary offers will fall within these ranges based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, skill set, training and education.
